Jeans might be my favorite article of clothing.

They go with practically everything and you can get them in any color.  My collection includes basic blue, mustard yellow, teal, forest green, red, garnet, black, gold, and my newest addition: Ikat Print.

Printed jeans are sweeping retail stores and I. Love. It!  If you were contemplating getting a pair, do it.  Contrary to popular belief, you can still style them with everything in your closet.  I came up with 5 ways to wear my new obsessions from G By Guess.

1. With Neons and Arm Candy

5ways4

2.  With a Printed Tank.  5ways3

3. With Your Boyfriend’s Tank.5ways1

4.  Dressed Down.5ways2

5.  Dressed Up. 5ways5

Don’t steer away from the unfamiliar.  Embrace it.

Get your print on,

Jenn

There are days when I don’t want to do my hair, my makeup, or put on heels.  Today’s “snag” is about learning how to make it work.

My hair dries naturally in a maniacal, wavy, disaster.  I put a little mousse in it and let it be.  When I let it air dry, I tend to wear solid, bold colors.  I subconsciously avoid wearing prints because sometimes, it’s overwhelming; Too much going on.

Mustard skinny jeans from Express, Cobalt blue blouse with spike detailing from Tobi.

I love this top from Tobi.  It was a birthday present that has moved to my “favorites” list.   (Thanks, Linds!) The color is gorgeous and it has these edgy little spike details on the shoulders and elbows to give it a little extra.

Subtle spike details

For my shoes, I threw on some leopard zip-up sandals so I wasn’t too plain.  I went with natural makeup: Blush and mascara so I didn’t look like I totally rolled out of bed, and then I was ready for the day.

You don’t have to get dolled up every time you leave the house, but you can always look like you know what you’re doing.

Stay stylish.

Jenn

Hi friends!

While packing for my work week in LA, I decided to bring everything I own for when I had spare time to update the blog in close-to-real-time.  I tipped the guy at the airport a little extra and he sneaked my laptop into my overweight suitcase. But spare time? Yeah right.  I didn’t even have enough time to stalk through Instagram, let alone write a blog.

So, between the meetings and socializing and learning and interview-ish conversations, some pretty cool things went down.

We had a little secret excursion that brought us to the set of America’s Next Top Model: Season 20.  UM, YES.  This season, it’s guys and girls, which should prove to be an interesting twist on the usually all-female show.  We were told we may be on the show as audience members, so I was happy I took the time to make myself cute prior to leaving my room.  Mother Nature won again.  It was pouring.  The show went on anyway, and it was unreal.  Let me say this: Vertical Runway Show.  We were allowed to take photos, but no videos, so here are some sneaks until the real show comes out!

My view.

The first models to go strutting down the vertical runway. Really? That’s terrifying.

I was getting really nervous for them here: taking the plunge off the side of the building.

How?

Shaky starts wrecked my nerves.

Work. It. Out!

I had to make sure we weren’t on the set of “Fear Factor,” because it was pretty serious.  Keep in mind, it was cold and raining, on top of having to walk down the side of a building on a runner.  So, look for me doing “ooh’s” and “aaahhh’s” in the crowd!

I also attended a Gala/Awards Show while I was there.  I never have to get fancied up for anything, so I was so into it!  And here’s what I wore:

I don’t think I’d last through the Oscars.

I had a great week away, but I’m happy to be on Eastern time and sleeping in my own bed.

See you Wednesday,

Jenn

I suppose I’ll dedicate this week to Valentine’s Day-inspired fun.  If you remember from last year, I’m not a huge fan of the Hallmark holiday.  However, anything that invokes explosions of pink is something I can’t steer away from, so here we are!  I decided to try a different kind of ombre nail-do.  I chose 3 colors, all from Essie, and all in the pink/red family.

Then I got a paper plate and starting mapping out what I wanted to do.  The goal was to start with the light “mod square” and blend each nail until I reached “russian roulette” red.  I didn’t want to see a grave difference between each color, so I mixed them.

“Mod square” on the first finger.  “Mod square” and a dab “Super bossa nova” on the second.  “Super bossa nova” on the third.  “Super bossa nova” with a dab of “Russian roulette” on the fourth.  “Russian roulette” on the fifth.

Perfectly pink and lovely for the week.

You don’t have to be in the war to wear combat boots.  You don’t even have to wear pants.  Today’s “snag” brings a girly take on this tough & trendy shoe that I absolutely love.

These have recently become one of my favorite pieces in my closet.  You can pair them with anything from shorts to skirts to skinny jeans to give a little edge to a sweeter style.  This is one trend that I hope sticks around.  Bring on the spice, ladies!

Xo,

Jenn

Sometimes you’ve just got to get casual.

Today’s “Snag” is about cute and comfy, especially since I spend more time in heels than anything else.  It’s nice to rock a pair of Chucks every so often… like when I have a day off.

If you don’t have Converse, get some! I think they look better when they’re a little worn, so I’m working on making them more rugged. I got the sweater for free on a “buy one, get one” deal at H&M. It’s one of the reasons my own H&M collection could clothe a small country. Their prices are ridiculously low. Skinny jeans are my go-to. These are G By Guess.

It’s okay to kick off your heels.

Xo,

Nail art is something that has exploded world-wide over the past year.  People have stars, bows, glitter, and jewels on their nails right now.  I love the nail art craze, but I don’t have the time nor the desire to paint a celebrity’s face on my ring finger.

I wanted to do something different, but not too intricate.  Chic, but simple.  Easy was key.

Here is my modern manicure, step by simple step.

I chose two colors from Essie.  I have a slight obsession and I’m OK with it.

Essie's "Good as Gold" and "Super Bossanova"

Essie’s “Good as Gold” and “Super Bossanova”

1.  Paint the base color first.  I chose pink.

DSCN0944

2.  Let them dry completely.  I got too impatient and had to repaint 4 fingers.

nail3.  I took regular tape and cut ten 2 inch pieces.  Then I cut triangles in the center of them and stuck them to the windowsill.  I outlined it with pink so you could see it more clearly.

nail4

4.  Once your base is dry, put the tape over the nail, in the spot where you’d like the triangle to sit.  (I indicated it with yellow.)

5.  This is where you’ll paint the second color and slowly pull the tape off.

6.  Once dry, apply top coat and clean up the excess polish.

Not to toot my own horn, but I’m pretty pleased with my work.

Until next time,

Jenn

Since my birthday is the day after Christmas, I’m usually eager to get out of the house, out of work, and out for some fun.  So this past birthday was no different, and I celebrated like anyone should.  Turning 27 felt weird.  I liked 26. But, my mind can still revert to early 20′s mode, so i took advantage.  I called up my favorite people and invited them out for a little bash on Saturday, because how uncool is it to go out on a Wednesday?  My sister bought me a dress from LuLus.com that I fell in love with.

I also tried my skills at karaoke.  I sang “Rockin’ Robin.” Not my choice.  I voted for R. Kelly (Remix to Ignition). We got shut down because I don’t know the words and just kept saying “tweet, tweet, tweetly dee.”  Maybe next time.  Maybe not.

The greatest part about my birthday is always seeing the people I love.  So, if you were there, thanks for coming out and celebrating with me.  If not, you missed out!

Jenn
